    רקע אקדמי

     

    פרופ' מאיור סיים את לימודיו  לתואר ראשון בכימיה ומדעי המחשב באוניברסיטת בר-אילן בשנת 1997. הוא קבל תואר שלישי מאוניברסיטת בר-אילן תחת הנחייתה של פרופ' בלהה פישר בשנת 2003. במהלך לימודי התואר השלישי הוא חקר תכונות פיזיקאליות של נוקליאוטידים, מידול תיאורטי של חלבונים ממשפחת ה- G-protein coupled receptors, ועיגון של ליגנד לרצפטור.

    בהמשך ד"ר מאיור עשה פוסט-דוקטוראט באוניברסיטה של מינסוטה בארצות הברית תחת הנחייתו של פרופ' ג'יאלי גאו בשנות 2003-2006. בפוסט-דוקטוראט הוא עסק בפיתוח ויישום של שיטות תיאורטיות לחקר התפקוד של אנזימים.

    מאש שנת 2007 הוא חבר סגל במחלקה לכימיה באוניברסיטת בר-אילן.

    Research Gallery

    Enzymes

    Terpene synthases sense their substrates in a binary manner via one of two reactive oxygen atoms. We hypothesize that this alteration in binding, and subsequent chemistry, is due to these enzymes originating from plants or microorganisms.
